Sweet eggy bread

Eggs are the hero in this dish! Sweet, warm and quick to make, eggy bread is a great lazy Sunday morning treat.


2 Happy Eggs

60 ml of milk

4 tsps of vanilla extract

4 slices of white bread, cut in half

25g of butter

1 tsp vegetable oil (to fry)

50g of caster sugar


  1. Beat the eggs, milk and vanilla in a bowl.

  2. Put the bread halves in the egg mixture, soak for 5 minutes on each side.

  3. In a frying pan, heat the butter and oil. Fry the eggy bread until golden on both sides.

  4. Put the sugar on a plate, lay a cooked bread slice on top, spoon over the sugar to coat, put onto a serving plate. Repeat to coat all slices.

  5. Serve and enjoy.
